Cenote Chikin Ha
In the Mayan language, it means ‘Water from the west’. This Cenote is located in the upstream part of the Ponderosa system and it is connected to many other Cenotes. Therefore it’s not only a popular place for cavern divers, but it’s also very popular for certified cave divers or those who want to get certified as such.
Chikin Ha is located about 10km south of Puerto Aventuras and this cenote is a perfect spot for first-time cavern diving, where you can observe the mix of fresh and salty water called Halocline. This cenote has 2 different lines, one from Cenote Chikin Ha and the other from the Cenote Xtabay, both being part of the same cavern but different area! This cenote park is a great spot for snorkeling, same as the other cenotes with open area and zip lining.
It is important to do cavern diving with a certified and experienced local guide.
We choose the Cenotes based on the experience of the group.
We have small groups of 4 divers for each guide.
We recommend a refresher dive for beginners that have not been diving for over a year.
